How the Process Works

In an initial meeting, Aeterna founder and photographer, Shaleece Haas, talks with you and your family about what's important to you and what you envision for your family portfolio. A shooting schedule is set and Shaleece begins to photograph the interactions and activities that make up your day. Sometimes she stays overnight with a family; sometimes she shows up for a day here and there. Either way, her shooting style is non-obtrusive and completely candid.

After the photography is complete, proofs are made. From the hundreds of images generated, you and your family choose a collection (usually between 20 and 30 prints) for your personalized portfolio. Those images are then hand-printed in black & white to the highest archival and artistic standards and presented in a custom-made leather or fabric box. For more information, see our FAQ page.
